This NOFO seeks to support doctoral students whose dissertation research is relevant to preventing and controlling crime, protecting the border, enforcing the law, promoting public safety, or ensuring the fair and impartial administration of criminal or juvenile justice in the United States. This furthers the DOJ mission by increasing the pool of researchers who are engaged in providing science-based solutions to problems relevant to criminal and juvenile justice policy and practice in the United States.

Round 6 of the Strengthening Community Colleges (SCC or SCC6) grants will fund community colleges, with a singular focus on building program and system capacity for implementing and scaling access to short-term training opportunities through Workforce Pell Grants—i.e., promoting industry-driven strategies, worker mobility, and integration with the larger state workforce system (e.g., Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) partners) for statewide impact. AmeriCorps improves lives, strengthens communities, and fosters civic engagement through service and volunteering. AmeriCorps brings people together to tackle some of the country’s most pressing challenges through national service and volunteerism. AmeriCorps members serve with organizations dedicated to the improvement of communities and those serving. AmeriCorps grants are awarded to eligible organizations engaging AmeriCorps members in evidence-based or evidence-informed interventions to strengthen communities. An AmeriCorps member is person who does community service through AmeriCorps. Members may receive a living allowance and other benefits. After successful completion of their service, members earn a Segal AmeriCorps Education Award they can use to pay for higher education expenses or apply to qualified student loans. 

Willamette Valley Project (WVP) 2026 Natural Resource Management (NRM) Education and Training of Botanically Sophisticated Restoration Workers This Agreement will assist NWP in fulfilling environmental stewardship responsibilities consisting of restoration and management of native landscapes and wildlife habitat at NWP Projects while providing education and training in botanically sophisticated ecological restoration design, implementation, and community involvement to young professionals, veterans, displaced workers, college students, or other community members; and to provide opportunities for local primary and secondary school students to produce and install native plant materials in restoration sites, participating in stewardship of local habitats and gaining knowledge and appreciation of the environment on USACE Portland District (NWP) lands. The recipient’s participants will gain experience with project planning, development, and implementation at water resources projects under USACE jurisdiction at the Willamette Valley Project. Program activities may occur at any site in the Willamette Valley Project but will be concentrated at the southern lakes: Fern Ridge, Fall Creek, Dexter, Lookout Point, Hills Creek, Cottage Grove and Dorena. USACE expects no more than a week at Cougar, Foster-Greenpeter, or Detroit-Big Cliff during the period of performance. Work projects will consist of education and task assignments in land stewardship and restoration, wildlife habitat improvement, riparian enhancement, wetlands restoration and enhancement, native grassland restoration and....

This NOFO supports the implementation of intervention and suppression strategies to reduce youth gang crime and violence and promote public safety. These strategies will help to prevent youth from joining gangs, discontinue involvement in gangs, and prevent and reduce additional youth gang violence.

The primary objective of the EDMAP component of the National Cooperative Geologic Mapping Program (NCGMP) is to train the next generation of geologic mappers. To do this, the NCGMP provides funds for graduate student and upper-level undergraduate student projects relevant to the creation of geologic maps (defined broadly as maps that characterize the solid Earth and/or its constituents). Through these cooperative agreements, the NCGMP hopes to expand the research and educational capacity of national academic programs that teach Earth science students the broad range of techniques relevant to geologic mapping and the analysis of field, geophysical, borehole, and remote sensing data. As of 2024, EDMAP has funded more than 1,501 students from more than 177 universities. A list of funded FY2025 EDMAP projects can be found in Attachment D of this announcement. This funding opportunity seeks to support local law enforcement in rural jurisdictions to prevent, respond to, and reduce violent crime. The goal is to equip rural law enforcement agencies and prosecutors’ offices with the resources necessary to implement a violent crime reduction strategy to solve a specific violent crime challenge.

This NOFO will enhance prosecutors’ ability to effectively represent the public in state capital proceedings and to improve the quality of legal representation for indigent defendants in State capital cases.

This NOFO supports state, local, and tribal governments, law enforcement agencies, correctional facilities, probation and parole departments, and sheriff’s departments in developing, implementing, or expanding de-escalation and crisis response training programs that improve law enforcement responses to and outcomes for individuals in crisis who have behavioral health conditions, intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DDs), physical disabilities, and/or traumatic brain injuries. This program will equip law enforcement and correctional officers with tactical skills, strategies, and technology to effectively de-escalate and handle crisis situations, enhance safety, and protect officer wellbeing.

Under the leadership of Secretary Brooke Rollins, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) is committed to strengthening strategies to encourage healthy choices, healthy outcomes, and healthy families. In support of this principle, the USDA Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) is pleased to announce the availability of $20 million to provide grants on a competitive basis to State agencies for the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) Equipment Assistance Grants, as authorized under the Full-Year Continuing Appropriations and Extensions Act, 2025 (Public Law 119-4), and the Continuing Appropriations, Agriculture, Legislative Branch, Military Construction and Veterans Affairs, and Extensions Act, 2026 (Public Law 119-37). The NSLP Equipment Assistance Grant provides funds to NSLP State agencies to administer competitive subgrants to eligible local education agencies (LEAs), school food authorities (SFAs), and schools for the purchase of equipment valued at greater than $1,000. The purpose of the NSLP Equipment Assistance Grant is to help ensure that schools have the equipment they need to serve healthier meals, improve food safety, and to support the establishment, maintenance, or expansion of the School Breakfast Program (SBP). The CCAMPIS Program supports the participation of low-income parents in postsecondary education by providing campus-based child care services. The program makes competitive grants for a period of 4 years to institutions of higher education, with a priority for child care programs that (1) leverage significant local or institutional resources and (2) utilize a sliding fee scale. Institutions may use the funding to establish or support a campus-based child care program primarily serving the needs of students from low-income backgrounds enrolled at the institution. In accordance with Section 90006 of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (Pub. L. No. 119-21), the Presidential Residence Protrection Assistance (PRPA) Grant Program provides federal funding for the reimbursement of extraordinary law enforcement personnel costs for protection activities directly and demonstrably associated with any residence of the President designated pursuant to section 3 or 4 of the Presidential Protection Assistance Act of 1976 (Public Law 94–524; 18 U.S.C. § 3056 note) to be secured by the United States Secret Service. The PRPA Grant Program ensures that state and local law enforcement agencies are not unduly burdened by the additional responsibilities and expenses required to safeguard presidential residences, as directed by the Secret Service.

Announces the availability of $488,628,000 for FY 2026 Port Infrastructure Development Program grants.

DOE SC hereby invites applications for support under the ECRP in the following program areas: Advanced Scientific Computing Research (ASCR); Basic Energy Sciences (BES); Biological and Environmental Research (BER); Fusion Energy Sciences (FES); High Energy Physics (HEP); Nuclear Physics (NP); Isotope Research and Development and Production (DOE IP). The purpose of this program is to support the development of individual research programs of outstanding scientists early in their careers and to stimulate research careers in the areas supported by SC.

The Innovation in Behavioral Health (IBH) Model (the “Model”) for Cohort II Recipients is a seven-year, voluntary service delivery and payment model promoting integrated care in behavioral health (BH) settings. The IBH Model will test the impact of a value-based payment (VBP) model aligned across Medicaid and Medicare that supports an integrated care delivery framework in specialty BH organizations and settings for adult Medicaid, Medicare, and dually eligible beneficiaries with moderate to severe mental health conditions and/or substance use disorders (SUDs).The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), through its Center for Medicare & Medicaid Innovation (Innovation Center), will select up to five state Medicaid agencies (SMAs) to participate in the Model. The Model will have a seven-year performance period, which will be comprised of a two-year Pre-Implementation Period (beginning January 2027 and ending December 2028) along with a five-year Implementation Period (beginning January 2029 and ending December 2033). Up to $7.5 million dollars in cooperative agreement award funding will be available to each selected Recipient over the course of the seven years.

This program will support state, local, and tribal government efforts to reduce wasteful spending and inefficiencies across justice system operations and redirect that funding to target crime and other public safety and/or justice system challenges. Applicants should propose projects that address one or more urgent local justice system challenge. Applicants should use existing data and information to identify the specific challenges they will focus on and how they will refocus resources on the strategies and populations most likely to reduce crime. Jurisdictions may consider addressing challenges across the judicial system, including those related to law enforcement, prosecution, sentencing, jails and prisons, probation, and parole.

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Landslide Hazards Program announces a funding opportunity under the Cooperative Landslide Hazard Mapping and Assessment Program, established by the National Landslide Preparedness Act (Public Law 116-323). This program provides resources to assist state, local, Tribal, and territorial governments in reducing landslide risk through hazard mapping, risk assessments, public education, and interagency coordination. Landslides occur in every U.S. state and territory, often with little warning, causing fatalities, disrupting transportation and commerce, and inflicting billions of dollars in damage annually. This program addresses these challenges by funding projects that:•Enhance Risk Assessments: Develop detailed landslide hazard maps and analyses to identify high-risk areas.•Improve Community Preparedness: Deliver outreach campaigns, workshops, and educational materials that empower residents and decision-makers to recognize warning signs and prepare for landslide events.•Promote Collaboration: Build partnerships among government agencies, universities, and local organizations to share knowledge and resources for effective risk reduction. The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS), requests applications for the fiscal year (FY) 2026 Specialty Crop Block Grant Program (SCBGP) to award grants to eligible State departments of agriculture to carry out projects that enhance the competitiveness of specialty crops. The SCBGP assists State departments of agriculture in the 50 States, American Samoa, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, the District of Columbia, Guam, and the U.S. Virgin Islands to enhance the competitiveness of specialty crops by— (1) leveraging efforts to market and promote specialty crops; (2) assisting producers with research and development relevant to specialty crops; (3) expanding availability and access to specialty crops; (4) addressing local, regional, and national challenges confronting specialty crop producers; and (5) for such other purposes determined to be appropriate by the Secretary of Agriculture, in consultation with specialty crop stakeholders and relevant State departments of agriculture. Specialty crops are fruits and vegetables, dried fruit, tree nuts, horticulture, and nursery crops (including floriculture). A State department of agriculture is the agency, commission, or department of a State government responsible for agriculture within the State.

NRCS is announcing the availability of up to $52 million in Voluntary Public Access-Habitat Incentive Program (VPA-HIP) funding through One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA), Public Law 119-21 to create or enhance state and Tribal government programs that encourage owners and operators of privately held farm, ranch, and forest land to voluntarily make that land available for access by the public for hunting, fishing, and other wildlife-dependent recreation. VPA-HIP is a competitive grant program and only state and tribal governments may apply. Projects may be up to 3 years in duration. The maximum amount for a single award is $3 million. Up to 25% of the funding for each award may be used to provide incentives to improve wildlife habitat on enrolled public access program lands. The Career Pathways Exploration (CPE) program supports efforts to provide elementary and secondary school students with increased career exploration opportunities that allow them to develop, expand, and prioritize the skills and knowledge needed to excel in high-demand fields. To support this goal, the CPE program provides competitive grants to States to build their capacity to integrate career exploration into statewide career pathways and workforce readiness programs. The CPE program will help ensure access to opportunities that expose students to real-life workforce realities through a variety of career pathways programs that are aligned with State workforce priorities.In support of returning education to the States, ED believes this program is uniquely suited for State applicants. Direct-fund basic research at universities that complement applied research in nuclear forensics at the DOE National Laboratories to include foundational disciplines of radiochemistry; geochemistry; shock physics; nuclear physics, science and engineering; radiation detector science; nuclear material science engineering; nuclear chemical engineering; modeling, simulation and optimization methods for nuclear applications; and seismology and infrasound methods supporting yield determination. A secondary benefit to this research is the development of a diverse and highly talented cadre of technical professionals, including scientists, engineers, technicians, and operational personnel, who will become the next generation of technical leaders in nuclear missions, such as nuclear forensics, nonproliferation, incident response, intelligence, and energy. These professionals are expected to primarily benefit the DOE National Laboratories as future research staff but will also benefit academia, private industry, and U.S. government agencies, including Energy, State, Defense, Homeland Security, Justice, and the Intelligence Community.
