As described in the VA-SPORTS-26 Notice of Funding Opportunity:An amendment submitted after the application submission deadline and prior to the grant award cannot change the scope of the original application or increase the amount of the grant requested by more than a total of 10-percent. An applicant seeking to amend its grant application must submit a narrative description of, and clear justification for, the requested changes, and a revised Standard Form 424 (Application for Federal Assistance). Amendments submitted after the application submission deadline will not be considered during the Administrative or Merit Review stages. Consideration of amendments will only occur for applications that progress to the Programmatic Review stage.Application package submitted prior to the submission deadline for VA-SPORTS-26 will be used for consideration in both the Administrative and Merit Review stages.When submitting, organizations must select Revision on the SF424 and list the Grants.gov # for originally submitted application (GRANT#######) in the "If Revision, select appropriate letter(s)" field.

The Historically Black Colleges and Universities - Excellence in Research (HBCU-EiR) program was established in response to direction provided in the Senate Commerce and Justice, Science and Related Agencies Appropriations Subcommittee Report (Senate Report 115-139), and is built on prior and continuing efforts by the National Science Foundation (NSF) to strengthen research capacity at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). This report provided guidance to NSF to establish the HBCU Excellence in Research program "to provide opportunities for both public and private HBCUs, particularly for those who have not been successful in larger NSF Research & Related Activities competitions, in order to stimulate sustainable improvement in their research and development capacity" (https://congress.gov/congressional-report/115th-congress/senate-report/139/1). EiR supports such capacity building by funding research projects aligned with NSF's research programs. The program aims to establish stronger connections between researchers at HBCUs and NSF's research programs.

This means that the value of the proposed research can be justified within an anthropological context. It is the responsibility of the investigator to explain convincingly why the focus of their research is significant and has the potential to contribute to anthropological knowledge. The program sets no priorities by either geographic region or time period. It also has no priorities in regard to theoretical orientation or question. While the program, in order to encourage innovative research, neither limits nor defines specific categories of research, most proposals either request funds for field research or the analysis of archaeological material through multiple approaches.

Summary: The fiscal year 2026 (FY26) Vision Research Program (VRP) Mentored Clinical Research Award (MCRA) supports patient-oriented vision injury research conducted by highly motivated military or civilian clinicians in training. The MCRA may be used to support a standalone study of high impact to vision injury care or the generation of clinical research data in preparation for a more expansive study. Research must align with at least one of the FY26 VRP Focus Areas. The MCRA may not be used to support preclinical research or clinical trials. Summary: The fiscal year 2026 (FY26) Pancreatic Cancer Research Program (PCARP) Translational Research Partnership Award supports partnerships between clinicians, population scientists, applied scientists and/or basic scientists that will accelerate the movement of promising ideas in pancreatic cancer toward clinical applications. The partnership must include at least one member with expertise in pancreatic cancer research or pancreatic cancer patient care. All applications must address at least one of the FY26 PCARP Focus Areas. ·        This award mechanism requires preliminary data to support feasibility of the research hypothesis(es) and research approaches. However, these data do not necessarily need to originate from studies of pancreatic cancer.
