The primary objective of the STATEMAP component of the National Cooperative Geologic Mapping Program (NCGMP) is to establish the geologic framework of areas determined to be vital to the economic, social, or scientific welfare of individual States and the Nation. The State Geologist/Survey Director/Chief Scientist (or similar position) shall determine mapping priorities in consultation with a multidiscipline State Mapping Advisory Committee (SMAC). These priorities shall be determined on the basis of: (1) State requirements for geologic map information in areas of multiple issue need or areas of compelling single-issue need, and (2) State requirements for geologic map information in areas where mapping is required to solve critical earth science problems. Priorities are not dependent on past agreements with the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS).The STATEMAP Program fulfills the NCGMP mission and supports Department of the Interior (DOI) Secretarial priorities (see https://www.doi.gov/performance/strategic-planning for the current DOI Strategic Plan) by developing a national geologic framework through the generation of new two-dimensional (2D) and three-dimensional (3D) geologic map databases. The FY 2026 American Music Mentorship Program (AMMP) cooperative agreement will implement a mentorship exchange pairing international mid-career music industry professionals who manage, produce, distribute, and promote music - with U.S. music industry mentors. Rather than focusing solely on performers, AMMP aims to strengthen music industry infrastructure and create pathways that expand global market access for American music.   AMMP’s FY 2026 theme, Made in America: Influence and Innovation of the American Music Industry, emphasizes commercial and creative development through residencies and training to strengthen participants’ capacity to effectively partner with American creative industries. The program fosters professional development, knowledge sharing, and new industry pathways such as licensing, co-production, and distribution to position the American music sector as a platform for innovation and cross-border collaboration, underscoring its role as a driver of American economic growth and cultural influence.   Mentees from three to five countries will participate in a two-week U.S. residency followed by monthly virtual sessions with American music industry mentors over approximately 10 to 12 months to sustain collaboration.  Through curated mentorships these professionals will gain access to the U.S. music industry, enhance technical and business skills, and build lasting networks. The Office of Academic Exchange Programs of the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) announces an open competition for an assistance award to administer the FY 2026 U.S. South Pacific Scholarship Program (USSP). U.S. public and private non-profit organizations meeting the provisions described in Internal Revenue Code section 26 CFR 1.501(c)(3) may submit proposals to organize and carry out academic exchange program activities for up to eight participants for the USSP program (eligible nations for USSP are listed below in the Overview section).The Office plans to issue a cooperative agreement to support up to eight participants to undertake degree studies in the United States for the FY 2026 USSP program for approximately $925,000. The Office of Academic Exchange Programs, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA), invites proposal submissions for one cooperative agreement to design, administer, and implement the Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative Academic Fellows Program (YSEALI AFP).     YSEALI AFP will include approximately 16 institutes—eight in spring 2027 and eight in fall 2027—for approximately 285 undergraduate and recent graduates from Southeast Asia.  Each institute will be on one of four themes: Economic Prosperity, Liberty and Freedom, Natural Resources, and Peace and Security.    The award recipient will plan, implement, and oversee the 16 institutes under the YSEALI themes. Each institute will host approximately 17-18 Fellows from Southeast Asia.  Each institute will be approximately five weeks long and will include an approximately four-week academic residency at a U.S. college or university campus. The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Southwest Biological Science Center (SBSC) seeks to provide financial assistance to help build a program focusing on reclamation sciences to support energy development, critical minerals, and streamlining regulation. This program should identify opportunities to improve outcomes and efficiency of reclamation through (1) surveys of reclamation outcomes, analysis of existing experiments, and literature synthesis; (2) developing tools and maps to support reclamation; and (3) communicating new insights to stakeholders, including industry partners. There are currently significant challenges for management of lands following oil, gas, and mineral development, and other land disturbing activities in arid landscapes.

The USGS is offering a funding opportunity to a CESU partner for research on the utility of the Skydio Dock for X10 to (1) fly remotely beyond visual line of site (BVLOS), (2) collect image velocimetry (IV) data, (3) upload IV data via the Skydio Cloud and satellite communications (SatComms), and (4) develop a workflow for processing camera imagery to compute IV-derived discharge.The cost to operate stream gages in gage-poor or hard-to-access basins is both costly and a potential safety risk. The Next Generation Water Observing System (NGWOS) is seeking to trial and develop a workflow that is reliable and capable of transmitting camera imagery via SatComms and compute IV-derived discrete discharge that is equivalent to USGS standard methods.The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Water Resources Mission Area (WMA) is interested in partnering with the CESU to evaluate the operational readiness of near-field remote sensing of the Skydio Dock platform. The Skydio Dock has been developed to operate remotely by remote pilots; however, the application to collect camera imagery that can be processed and to compute river discharge is novel. The U.S. Bureau of Reclamation Green Mountain Reservoir is an ideal test bed for this technology given that two USGS streamgages are co-located within the proposed flight volume of the Skydio Dock. The National Marine Fisheries Service (hereinafter, "NMFS") recognizes the unique importance of marine mammals to Alaska Native Organizations (hereinafter, "ANOs") and values ongoing efforts by Alaska Native Organizations' members to conserve and protect subsistence species under NMFS' jurisdiction. Pursuant to 16 U.S.C. §1388, NMFS may provide Federal assistance to ANOs to conserve marine mammals and to promote co-management of Alaska Native subsistence use of such mammals under NMFS' jurisdiction. This assistance, provided in the form of cooperative agreements, may be used to support conservation of marine mammals utilized for subsistence purposes by Alaska Natives. Funded activities may include development and implementation of species management, subsistence harvest monitoring, subsistence harvest sampling, scientific research, and public education and outreach. Proposed activities should address priority actions identified in an Endangered Species Act Recovery Plan or Marine Mammal Protection Act Conservation Plan where applicable and the priorities identified within this Federal funding opportunity.
