The U.S. Department of State announces an open competition to deliver in-person, specialized English language teacher training and direct student instruction aligned with priority sectors such as space, critical minerals, rare earths, energy, high technology, business and trade, agriculture, media, and security. As U.S. engagement with Uzbekistan increases, English proficiency has become a strategic asset — enabling business and trade professionals, government officials, journalists, security personnel, agribusiness practitioners, and technology specialists to engage directly with Americans, access English-language resources, and generate opportunities that advance U.S. commercial and strategic interests.A shortage of highly proficient English teachers in Uzbekistan limits learners' access to functional, sector-specific English instruction. This program addresses that gap by training teachers to deliver specialized language instruction while simultaneously providing direct instruction to students and emerging professionals in key sectors. Program activities will promote enhanced knowledge of American culture and entrepreneurial spirit alongside language gains, equipping participants to more effectively engage with and operate within U.S. professional environments. The bulk of activities will be delivered in person. Funded programs will run for no more than two years and will produce measurable gains in English proficiency across priority professional communities.

The Decision, Risk and Management Sciences Program (DRMS) supports scientific research directed at increasing understanding and effectiveness of decision making by individuals, groups, organizations and society. DRMS supports research with solid foundations in theories and methods of the social and behavioral sciences. This social and behavioral science research should advance knowledge, address fundamental scientific and societal issues and have strong broader impacts. DRMS funds disciplinary and interdisciplinary research, doctoral dissertation research improvement grants (DDRIGs) and conferences in the following areas: judgment and decision making; decision analysis and decision aids; risk analysis, perception and communication; societal and public-policy decision making; management science and organizational design. The program supports the use of the RAPID funding mechanism for research that involves ephemeral data, typically tied to disasters or other unanticipated events. Much less frequently, the program also supports highly unusual, proof-of-concept, high-risk projects that are potentially transformational (Early Concept Grants for Exploratory Research – EAGER). The Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) program supports active research participation by undergraduate students in any of the areas of research funded by the National Science Foundation. REU projects involve students in meaningful ways in ongoing research programs or in research projects specifically designed for the REU program. This solicitation features two mechanisms for supporting student research: REU Sites are based on independent proposals to initiate and conduct projects that engage a number of students in research. REU Sites may be based in a single discipline or academic department or may offer interdisciplinary or multi-department research opportunities with a coherent intellectual theme. REU Supplements may be included as a component of proposals for new or renewal NSF grants or cooperative agreements or may be requested for ongoing NSF-funded research projects. REU projects with an international dimension are welcome. Undergraduate student participants in either REU Sites or REU Supplements must be U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals,or U.S. permanent residents. This effort seeks to address multiple facets of export control challenges. The first component will analyze trade data, create exemplary visualizations (e.g., dashboards), and train export control authorities to use data analysis for export control implementation. The second component will design, develop, and deploy a smartphone-accessible application for frontline officers to detect and identify export-controlled commodities. The third component will train recipients to effectively, responsively, and proactively engage regulated industry based on identified proliferation trends.

This effort seeks to address multiple facets of export control challenges. This mechanism allows for clinical trials but does not allow animal studies.Distinctive Features:• Applications must include preliminary data.• Applications must include at least one lupus consumer advocate as a member of the research team.• This funding mechanism allows for up to three Principal Investigators (PIs). Only the initiating PI will submit a pre-application, but all PIs will need to submit full applications. The National Science FoundationRobert Noyce Teacher Scholarship Program (Noyce)invites innovative proposals that address the critical need for recruiting, preparing, and retaining highly effective elementary and secondary mathematics and science teachers and teacher leaders who persist as classroom teachers in high-need Local Education Agencies (LEA), (a.k.a. high-need school district). The DICE program seeks to develop the theory and algorithms for decentralized coordination and local inference control to enable a scalable, adaptive, and resilient collective of heterogeneous AI agents that can autonomously execute sustained long-time-horizon missions in contested environments while remaining under human control. In contrast to small-scale, rigid, and fragile centralized orchestration or the high-risk unpredictable nature of ad hoc compositions of AI agents, DICE aims to harness the scalability and adaptability of self-organizing systems while minimizing risks and ensuring that the collective behavior remains predictable and aligned with intended outcomes. This approach mirrors the principles of decentralized self-organization that underpin the internet's own scalability and resilience, where robust global behavior emerges from simple, local rules.

To carry out Older Americans Act Section 307(a)(11), and 45 C.F.R. 1321.93 and 1324.303, ACL plans to fund approximately five (5) cooperative agreements to expand or improve the delivery of legal services to older adults through public-private partnerships at the state and local levels. Enhancements made through this funding opportunity will support measurable and sustainable improvements to the delivery of a full range of legal assistance to older adults, from legal advice to full representation.

The project will divert low-risk, first-time offenders to probation and community service, allowing Tunisia to focus its limited resources on high-threat criminals. Building upon previous INL support and Ministry of Justice buy in, this project will work to expand probation services to all 24 governorates through establishing probation offices in the last remaining four governorates and standardizing services nationwide; deliver training to criminal justice sector actors and community stakeholders; increase public awareness of the benefits of community service and probation for low-risk individuals; and standardize procedures, including through the use of information technology, to streamline the process.

The National Sea Grant College Program was enacted by the U.S. Congress in 1966 (amended in 2020, Public Law 116-221) to support leveraged federal and state partnerships that harness the intellectual capacity of the nation’s universities and research institutions to solve problems and generate opportunities in coastal communities. This notice announces that applications may be submitted for the 2027 National Sea Grant College Program Dean John A. Knauss Marine Policy Fellowship (Sea Grant Knauss Fellowship Program). The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) is soliciting innovative solutions in the technical area of materials analysis, including surface and bulk analysis of molecular structure, elemental composition, trace elements and isotope ratios in samples, to be conducted under ambient conditions, without the need for special sample preparation. Proposed research should investigate innovative approaches that enable revolutionary advances in science, devices, or systems. The Methodology, Measurement, and Statistics (MMS) Program is an interdisciplinary program in the Directorate for Social, Behavioral, and Economic Sciences that supports the development of innovative analytical and statistical methods and models for those sciences. MMS seeks proposals that are methodologically innovative, grounded in theory, and have potential utility for multiple fields within the social, behavioral, and economicsciences. The U.S. Department of Transportation’s Office of the Assistant Secretary for Research and Technology (OST-R) is announcing a Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) for the Interdisciplinary Transportation Law and Policy Technology Training Development program. This 24-month cooperative agreement aims to bridge the critical knowledge gap between fast-changing transportation technologies and our Nation's policymakers, lawmakers, and legal counsel.The primary objective of this program is to research, prioritize, and provide instructional materials on rapidly developing transportation technologies, specifically artificial intelligence (AI), automated vehicles (AV), and the digital infrastructure supporting automation. The selected applicant will be responsible for developing three distinct educational tools: a one-day training course for congressional and support staff, a one-hour Executive Briefing for busy elected leaders and policymakers, and a full-semester curriculum for law students planning to work in transportation policy. The project will culminate in regional pilot training sessions and the transfer of materials for future use.

he U.S. Department of Transportation’s Office of the Assistant Secretary for Research and Technology (OST-R) is announcing a Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) for the Tribal Transportation Safety Strategy Pilot Program. This three-year cooperative agreement is designed to address the critical public safety crisis in Tribal communities, as American Indian and Alaska Native populations experience traffic fatality rates more than twice the national average.The primary objective of this program is to research, identify innovations, and develop a next-generation Tribal Transportation Strategic Safety Plan. The selected applicant will develop a comprehensive toolbox of training, analysis tools specifically geared toward decision making when historical crash data is not readily available, and risk-based safety planning guidelines. The project will culminate in a pilot program with at least one Federally recognized Tribal community that has a high traffic fatality rate, and will include the implementation of a temporary, low-cost safety infrastructure demonstration project.
