To achieve this goal, Noyce supports talented science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) undergraduate majors and professionals to become effective K-12 STEM teachers. It also supports experienced, exemplary K-12 STEM teachers to become teacher leaders who continue as classroom teachers in high-need school districts. The DICE program seeks to develop the theory and algorithms for decentralized coordination and local inference control to enable a scalable, adaptive, and resilient collective of heterogeneous AI agents that can autonomously execute sustained long-time-horizon missions in contested environments while remaining under human control. In contrast to small-scale, rigid, and fragile centralized orchestration or the high-risk unpredictable nature of ad hoc compositions of AI agents, DICE aims to harness the scalability and adaptability of self-organizing systems while minimizing risks and ensuring that the collective behavior remains predictable and aligned with intended outcomes. This approach mirrors the principles of decentralized self-organization that underpin the internet's own scalability and resilience, where robust global behavior emerges from simple, local rules.

To carry out Older Americans Act Section 307(a)(11), and 45 C.F.R. 1321.93 and 1324.303, ACL plans to fund approximately five (5) cooperative agreements to expand or improve the delivery of legal services to older adults through public-private partnerships at the state and local levels. Enhancements made through this funding opportunity will support measurable and sustainable improvements to the delivery of a full range of legal assistance to older adults, from legal advice to full representation.

The project will divert low-risk, first-time offenders to probation and community service, allowing Tunisia to focus its limited resources on high-threat criminals. Building upon previous INL support and Ministry of Justice buy in, this project will work to expand probation services to all 24 governorates through establishing probation offices in the last remaining four governorates and standardizing services nationwide; deliver training to criminal justice sector actors and community stakeholders; increase public awareness of the benefits of community service and probation for low-risk individuals; and standardize procedures, including through the use of information technology, to streamline the process.

The National Sea Grant College Program was enacted by the U.S. Congress in 1966 (amended in 2020, Public Law 116-221) to support leveraged federal and state partnerships that harness the intellectual capacity of the nation’s universities and research institutions to solve problems and generate opportunities in coastal communities. This notice announces that applications may be submitted for the 2027 National Sea Grant College Program Dean John A. Knauss Marine Policy Fellowship (Sea Grant Knauss Fellowship Program). Pending the availability of federal funding, the National Sea Grant College Program (Sea Grant) anticipates funding not less than 35 applications. Application packages will each propose a total of $97,200 in funding. A detailed breakdown of this funding is described in Sections II.A and III.F of this announcement. The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) is soliciting innovative solutions in the technical area of materials analysis, including surface and bulk analysis of molecular structure, elemental composition, trace elements and isotope ratios in samples, to be conducted under ambient conditions, without the need for special sample preparation. Proposed research should investigate innovative approaches that enable revolutionary advances in science, devices, or systems. Specifically excluded is research that primarily results in evolutionary improvements to the existing state of practice.

The Methodology, Measurement, and Statistics (MMS) Program is an interdisciplinary program in the Directorate for Social, Behavioral, and Economic Sciences that supports the development of innovative analytical and statistical methods and models for those sciences. MMS seeks proposals that are methodologically innovative, grounded in theory, and have potential utility for multiple fields within the social, behavioral, and economicsciences. As part of its larger portfolio, the MMS Program partners with a consortium of federal statistical agencies to support research proposals that further the production and use of official statistics. The U.S. Department of Transportation’s Office of the Assistant Secretary for Research and Technology (OST-R) is announcing a Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) for the Interdisciplinary Transportation Law and Policy Technology Training Development program. This 24-month cooperative agreement aims to bridge the critical knowledge gap between fast-changing transportation technologies and our Nation's policymakers, lawmakers, and legal counsel.The primary objective of this program is to research, prioritize, and provide instructional materials on rapidly developing transportation technologies, specifically artificial intelligence (AI), automated vehicles (AV), and the digital infrastructure supporting automation. The selected applicant will be responsible for developing three distinct educational tools: a one-day training course for congressional and support staff, a one-hour Executive Briefing for busy elected leaders and policymakers, and a full-semester curriculum for law students planning to work in transportation policy. The project will culminate in regional pilot training sessions and the transfer of materials for future use.

he U.S. Department of Transportation’s Office of the Assistant Secretary for Research and Technology (OST-R) is announcing a Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) for the Tribal Transportation Safety Strategy Pilot Program. This three-year cooperative agreement is designed to address the critical public safety crisis in Tribal communities, as American Indian and Alaska Native populations experience traffic fatality rates more than twice the national average.The primary objective of this program is to research, identify innovations, and develop a next-generation Tribal Transportation Strategic Safety Plan. The selected applicant will develop a comprehensive toolbox of training, analysis tools specifically geared toward decision making when historical crash data is not readily available, and risk-based safety planning guidelines. The project will culminate in a pilot program with at least one Federally recognized Tribal community that has a high traffic fatality rate, and will include the implementation of a temporary, low-cost safety infrastructure demonstration project.

The purpose of the GlobalX Innovation Challenge is to accelerate the traditional knowledge generation cycle, rapidly testing applied research theories to enable the discovery of revolutionary dual-use capabilities for the benefit of the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps, the commercial marketplace, and the public. Led by the Office of Naval Research Global and targeted at researchers in the Indian subcontinent, this challenge addresses a joint Naval need and seeks to deliver outcomes of value to both the U.S. and India. The expected results are promising, potentially game-changing applied concepts whose maturity may be further advanced through separate follow-on technology development efforts.

The Tribal Colleges and Universities Program (TCUP) provides awards to federally recognized1 Tribal Colleges and Universities, Alaska Native-serving institutions, and Native Hawaiian-serving institutions to promote high quality science (including sociology, psychology, anthropology, linguistics, economics and bioeconomics, statistics, and other social and behavioral sciences; natural sciences; computer science, including, but not limited to, artificial intelligence, quantum information science, and cybersecurity), technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), STEM education, research, and outreach. The Pathways to Enable Secure Open-Source Ecosystems (PESOSE) program supports the translation of open-source science and engineering-focused research products into safe and sustainable ecosystems that address national and societal challenges. Open-source tools such as software, hardware, machine learning models, languages, and data platforms are designed to be shared as they are publicly-accessible and modifiable. These tools spark innovation in critical fields as varied as artificial intelligence (AI) and cloud computing, banking, healthcare, research, education, next-gen manufacturing, mobility, and National security (including cybersecurity). PESOSE supports the creation of managing organizations for these ecosystems, ensuring strong governance, distributed development, and broad user communities across academia, industry, and government. PESOSE also supports enhancements to the safety, security, and privacy of Open-Source Ecosystems (OSE) by addressing significant vulnerabilities, both technical and socio-technical, to improve the resistance of the ecosystem against threats. This solicitation seeks three types of proposals, allowing teams to propose specific activities to:1) scope and planthe establishment of an OSE, 2)establishand expand a sustainable OSE based on a robust, promising open-source product that meets an emergent societal or national need, and 3) improve the safety, security, and privacy of an existing OSE and its products.

Summary: The fiscal year 2026 (FY26) Lung Cancer Research Program (LCRP) Idea Development Award (IDA) supports conceptually innovative, high-risk/high-reward research that could lead to critical discoveries or major advancements that will accelerate progress toward eradicating deaths and suffering from lung cancer. This mechanism promotes new ideas that are in the early stages of development and have the potential to yield impactful data and new avenues of investigation. Research must address at least one of the FY26 LCRP areas of emphasis.Distinctive Features: This FY26 LCRP IDA mechanism has a New Investigator category that is designed to allow applicants early in their faculty appointments to compete for funding separately from established investigators. Preliminary data to support the feasibility of the research hypotheses and research approaches are required; however, these data do not necessarily need to be derived from studies of lung cancer.

Summary: The fiscal year 2026 (FY26) Lung Cancer Research Program (LCRP) Translational Research Award (TRA) supports advanced translational research that will foster transformation of promising ideas in lung cancer into clinical applications. Research must address at least one of the FY26 LCRP areas of emphasis.Distinctive Features: This funding mechanism intends to support a broad range of translational studies and allows application submission under: Funding Level 1 – Advanced/late-stage preclinical work or correlative studies; or Funding Level 2 – Pilot clinical trials of novel interventions.

Summary: The fiscal year 2026 (FY26) Prostate Cancer Research Program (PCRP) Data Science Award (DSA) supports research that develops or uses quantitative and analytical approaches, processes and/or systems to obtain knowledge and insight from large and/or complex sets of prostate cancer data in one or more of the following research areas: Analysis of clinically annotated datasets; analysis of -omics data; artificial intelligence and machine learning; bioinformatics; computational biology; digital pathology; epidemiology; and medical imaging. All applications must address one of the FY26 PCRP Overarching Challenges. Distinctive Features: This funding mechanism allows for multiple Principal Investigators (PIs). Only the initiating PI will submit a pre-application, but all PIs will need to submit full applications. Revolutionizing Engineering Departments (hereinafter referred to as RED) is designed to build upon previous efforts in engineering education research. Specifically, previous and ongoing evaluations of the NSF Engineering Education and Centers Division program and its predecessors, as well as those related programs in the Directorate for STEM Education, have shown that prior investments have significantly improved the first year of engineering students’ experiences, incorporating engineering material, active learning approaches, design instruction, and a broad introduction to professional skills and a sense of professional practice – giving students an idea of what it means to become an engineer. Similarly, the senior year has seen notable change through capstone design experiences, which ask students to synthesize the technical knowledge, skills, and abilities they have gained with professional capacities, using reflective judgment to make decisions and communicate these effectively. However, this ideal of the senior year has not yet been fully realized, because many of the competencies required in capstone design, or required of professional engineers, are only partially introduced in the first year and not carried forward with significant emphasis through the sophomore and junior years. The NSF Research Traineeship (NRT) program seeks proposals that explore ways for graduate students in research-based master’s and doctoral degree programs to develop the skills, knowledge, and competencies needed to pursue a range of STEM careers. The program is dedicated to effective training of STEM graduate students in high priority interdisciplinary or convergent research areas, through a comprehensive traineeship model that is innovative, evidence-based, and aligned with changing workforce and research needs. Proposals are requested that address any interdisciplinary or convergent research theme of national priority, as described in section II.D below. The NRT program addresses workforce development, emphasizing broad participation, and institutional capacity building needs in graduate education.
