The purpose of the INvestigation of Co-occurring conditions across the Lifespan to Understand Down syndromE (INCLUDE) Predoctoral to postdoctoral Fellow Transition award (F99/K00) is to recruit exceptional graduate students from a variety of research fields to pursue postdoctoral training focused on Down syndrome related research. Talented graduate students from disciplines including, but not limited to, genetics, biochemistry, data science, imaging, engineering and neurobiology are invited to apply to this opportunity. The Archaeology Program supports anthropologically relevant archaeological research to increase understanding of past behaviors. This means that the value of the proposed research can be justified within an anthropological context. It is the responsibility of the investigator to explain convincingly why the focus of their research is significant and has the potential to contribute to anthropological knowledge. The program sets no priorities by either geographic region or time period. It also has no priorities in regard to theoretical orientation or question. While the program, in order to encourage innovative research, neither limits nor defines specific categories of research, most proposals either request funds for field research or the analysis of archaeological material through multiple approaches.

The PHHS Block Grant Program allows recipients to address their own unique public health needs and challenges with evidence-based, innovative and community-driven methods. Recipients set their own goals and program objectives to address local priorities.

This initiative is intended to support effectiveness research to evaluate innovative programs, practices, or policies to address risk for interpersonal violence and suicide among groups experiencing a high burden of these issues. Innovative approaches are those that have not been rigorously evaluated for effectiveness in reducing interpersonal violence or suicide. Analyses examining how the approach affects different populations that are most impacted by these issues are a priority. Funds are available to conduct studies focused on preventing interpersonal violence or suicide involving youth or young adults (ages 10–24 years), including child abuse and neglect, intimate partner violence, sexual violence, suicide, and youth violence.

Program Description: The purposes of the Personnel Development to Improve Services and Results for Children with Disabilities program are to (1) help address State-identified shortages and needs for personnel preparation in special education and early intervention, including infants and toddlers, and youth with disabilities; and (2) ensure that those personnel have the necessary skills and knowledge, derived from practices that have been determined through scientifically based research, to be successful in serving those children. The purpose of the Personnel Preparation of Special Education, Early Intervention, and Related Services Personnel (84.325K) competition is to prepare and increase the number of personnel who have the necessary qualifications to serve children with disabilities. The purpose of the NBTS grant program, Assistance Listing 10.527, is to increase the retention and graduation rate of Tribal students attending 1994, 1862, and 1890 Land-grant Institutions. The goal of the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative is to target the most significant environmental problems in the Great Lakes ecosystem by funding and implementing projects that address these problems. As part of this initiative, the two bird habitat joint ventures that operate in the Great Lakes watershed – the Upper Mississippi / Great Lakes Joint Venture and the Atlantic Coast Joint Venture – will work with the Office of Conservation Investment program in the Midwest and Northeast Regions of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to competitively fund partner projects for long-term habitat protection, restoration, or enhancement, to conserve habitats that support native Great Lakes fish and wildlife populations, particularly migratory birds. The purpose of the CPPM program (Assistance Listing 10.329) is to provide funding for integrated, multifunctional agricultural research, Extension, and education activities. The goals and objectives of CPPM are to address high-priority issues related to pests, including insects, nematodes, pathogens, weeds, and other pests, and their management using IPM approaches at the state, regional, and national levels. The CPPM program supports projects that will ensure sufficient food production increase producer profitability, and respond effectively to other pest management challenges with comprehensive IPM approaches. Priority is given to proposals that address management of invasive species. The National Park Service"s (NPS) Underrepresented Communities Grant Program (URC) is intended to expand listings in the National Register of Historic Places to include communities that are currently underrepresented. URC grants are funded by the Historic Preservation Fund (HPF), and are administered by the NPS. Projects include surveys and nominations of historic sites associated with communities underrepresented in the National Register.
