The goal of the NAWCA program in Canada is to promote partnerships between public agencies and groups interested in:• Protecting, improving, restoring, and managing an appropriate distribution and variety of wetland ecosystems and other habitats for wetlands-associated migratory birds and other fish and wildlife in North America;• maintaining and improving the current distribution of wetlands-associated migratory bird populations; and• sustaining an abundance of waterfowl (ducks, geese, and swans) and other populations of wetlands-associated migratory birds consistent with the objectives of the North American Waterfowl Management Plan, U.S. Shorebird Conservation Plan, Waterbird Conservation Plan for the Americas, Partners in Flight Bird Conservation Plan, and other international obligations contained in the treaties and migratory bird conventions and other agreements with Canada, Mexico, and other countries.• The program requires a minimum 1:1 non-federal match. At least 50% of the match must be from U.S. Sources. Proposals should demonstrate how the activities of partners involved in a wetland conservation project will encourage sustainable and effective programs for the long-term conservation of wetlands-associated migratory birds. The Act defines wetlands conservation projects as:• The acquisition of real property interests in lands or waters, including water rights, of a wetland ecosystem and associated habitat if the obtaining of such interest is subject to terms and conditions that will ensure that the real property will be administered for the long-term conservation... |

Program Description: The Bureau of Indian Education at the U.S. Department of Interior (DOI) is soliciting applications in support of the administration of the State Tribal Education Partnerships (STEP) program on behalf of the U.S. Department of Education (ED). The purpose of State Tribal Education Partnership (STEP) is to promote Tribal self-determination in education; improve the academic achievement of Indian children and youth; and promote the coordination and collaboration between Tribal Educational Agencies (TEAs), State Educational Agencies (SEAs), and Local Educational Agencies (LEAs) to meet the unique education and culturally related academic needs of Indian students. STEP is authorized under section 6132 of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, as amended (ESEA). The intent of this competition is to return education to the Tribes and create opportunities where Tribes can exert sovereignty and self-determination. ED expects that TEA-SEA-LEA coordination will result in TEAs maintaining greater systemic connections with their Native children in public schools. The requirement for a draft written agreement (DWA), as defined in this notice, helps to ensure that all relevant partners needed to achieve the project goals are included from the outset. For example, applicants could propose projects that include developing a TEA aimed at creating a Tribal education system that provides policies, structures and oversight that improves such student outcomes as attendance, graduation rate, academic achievement, workforce development, and career readiness. Description: The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is announcing the availability of funds for new and renewing suicide prevention grants under the Staff Sergeant Fox Suicide Prevention Grant Program (SSG Fox SPGP) for services in Federal Fiscal Year (FY) 2027. The SSG Fox SPGP directs efforts to reduce Veteran suicide by awarding grants to community-based organizations to directly provide or coordinate the provision of primarily non-clinical suicide prevention services to eligible individuals and their families. Eligible individuals include certain Veterans and Active-Duty Service Members as defined by statute and regulations. Veteran suicide risk is reduced by services that improve mental health status, well-being, financial stability, and social support. Services provided by grantees may include case management, peer support, linkage to VA care and benefits, emergency clinical services, faith-based or innovative approaches. Most Veterans who die by suicide were not engaged with VA in the years prior to their deaths. This program addresses a critical gap by engaging and serving Veterans at risk for suicide who were previously out of VA’s reach and their family members. These grants support the President’s commitment to increase the excellence of and options for care, benefits, and services for veterans, as well as improve the delivery and quality of the Department's healthcare services in a more efficient and effective manner to support veterans, as demonstrated in Executive Order 14296 – Keeping Promises to Veterans and Establishing a National Center for Warrior Indep... |

This funding opportunity is to provide immediate emergency food assistance of U.S. agricultural commodities. It also advances President Trump’s commitment to ensure that international assistance delivers a measurable return on investment for the American people and that the benefits of U.S. food assistance flows back to America’s hardworking taxpayers, farmers, ranchers and producers who make this assistance possible. USDA’s America First approach to international food assistance requires all partners of its international assistance programs to adopt the following reforms: 1.Commodities procured must be 100% U.S. origin. a. USDA is committed to bring Food for Peace back to its core functions to support American Farmers feeding the world’s hungriest. All food provided under this program should be U.S.-grown and produced (see Appendix C Eligible Commodities). Cash and food vouchers will not be provided under these awards. 2.Strict accountability measures to prevent fraud, waste, abuse, and diversion will be instituted. a. Every U.S. taxpayer dollar must be traceable to prevent fraud, waste and abuse of U.S. commodities and funds. Continued compliance measures must be in place with strict accountability measures. Ensuring that U.S.-grown commodities reach their intended beneficiaries and save lives is of the highest importance to USDA. 3.Long-term dependency on foreign aid will be reduced. a. USDA will regularly monitor and evaluate projects on the ground with the goal of offboarding and graduating projects, ensuring that Title II funding prioritizes emergency and in-ne... |

A central goal of the BRAIN Initiative is to understand how electrical and chemical signals code information in neural circuits and give rise to sensations, thoughts, emotions and actions. While currently available technologies can provide some understanding, they may not be sufficient to accomplish this goal. For example, non-invasive technologies are low resolution and/or provide indirect measures such as blood flow, which are imprecise; invasive technologies can provide information at the level of single neurons producing the fundamental biophysical signals, but they can only be applied to tens or hundreds of neurons, out of a total number in the human brain estimated at 85 billion.Other BRAIN FOAs seek to develop novel technology (RFA-NS-17-003) or to optimize existing technology ready for in-vivo proof-of-concept testing and collection of preliminary data (RFA-NS-17-004) for recording or manipulating neural activity on a scale that is beyond what is currently possible. This FOA seeks applications for unique and innovative technologies that are in an even earlier stage of development than that sought in other FOAs, including new and untested ideas that are in the initial stages of conceptualization. In addition to experimental approaches, the support provided under this FOA might enable calculations, simulations, computational models, or other mathematical techniques for demonstrating that the signal sources and/or measurement technologies are theoretically capable of meeting the demands of large-scale recording or manipulation of circuit activity in humans or in animal.... |

The purpose of the SCRI program is to address the critical needs of the specialty crops industries (as defined in Appendix III) by awarding grants to support research and extension that address key challenges of national, regional, and multi-state importance in sustaining all components of food and agriculture, including conventional and organic food production systems. The program recognizes that for some specialty crops that are grown in a limited number of states, the multi-state nature of projects can be difficult to address. Except for Research and Extension Planning Projects, the SCRI program only considers projects that integrate research and extension activities. Applicants are strongly encouraged to propose a unique approach to solving problems facing the specialty crop industry using a systems approach. |
