The Emergency Management Performance Grant Program focuses on all-hazards emergency preparedness. The primary objective is to assist state, local, tibal, and territorial emergency management agencies to implement the National Preparedness System and to support the National Preparedness Goal of a secure and resilient nation.

Activities under this Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) should focus on protecting and improving public health globally by: 1) strengthening public health surveillance systems; 2)improving the public health surveillance workforce; 3) improving the interface between public health disease surveillance and laboratory systems; 4) reinforcing emergency surveillance preparedness; 5) enhancing electronic disease surveillance platforms and systems; and 6)enhancing the use of surveillance data for public health action. The purpose of this program is to establish new, or enhance existing, mobile crisis teams that serve children, youth, and adults experiencing mental health or substance use crises. Its focus is the expansion of behavioral health crisis response capacity and the development of structured partnerships that reduce reliance on law enforcement and emergency departments for behavioral health crises.

The purpose of this program is to: help prevent and reduce the initiation and progression of substance use and its related problems by supporting the development and delivery of community-based substance use prevention services that strengthen protective factors, reduce risk factors, build resilience, and promote well-being and expand and strengthen the capacity of prevention providers serving communities and tribes to implement evidence-based and evidence-informed prevention strategies.

The purpose of this program is to support American Indian and Alaska Native tribes in planning and developing a comprehensive, community-based system of care (SOC). A SOC is defined as a coordinated network of effective mental health and essential supportive services organized to address and meet the varied needs of children, youth, and young adults (birth through age 25), and their families. The SOC approach strives to ensure that mental health services are family-driven and youth-guided, and community-based.

The USDA’s Food and Nutrition Administration works to nourish those in need through financially sound programs that promote health and work, as well as champion the productivity of American agriculture. Consistent with Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins’ guiding principle to take swift action to minimize instances of fraud, waste, and program abuse in nutrition programs, the SNAP Fraud Framework Implementation Grant Program supports State agency efforts to improve and expand recipient fraud prevention, detection, and investigation efforts using the procedures, ideas, and practices outlined in the SNAP Fraud Framework. The SNAP Fraud Framework is designed to support State agencies as they develop new efforts or improve existing ones to prevent, detect, and investigate recipient fraud.Section 29(a) of the Food and Nutrition Act of 2008 (7 U.S.C. 2036b) authorizes FNA to prevent trafficking of SNAP benefits. Based on this authority, Congress has provided funding in annual appropriations in recent years to provide competitive grants to support State agencies in implementing SNAP’s Fraud Framework and to strengthen program integrity activities in SNAP. Up to $5 million has been appropriated in fiscal year (FY) 2026 for State agencies to implement practices described in the SNAP Fraud Framework. Applicants may apply for up to $750,000 in funding. Combating forced child recruitment weakens illegal armed groups by depriving them of members and reduces their ability to engage in criminal activities that threaten U.S. national security. This project will support Colombian efforts to combat forced child recruitment by enabling law enforcement to investigate, arrest, and prosecute recruiters.

The continued growth of the incarcerated population, combined with the rapid retirement of baby boomers, has created a significant increase in the number of wardens needed to operate prisons, jails, and community corrections facilities across the nation. Wardens play a critical role in ensuring public safety, protecting the well‑being of staff and incarcerated individuals, and serving as responsible stewards of public resources. Today’s wardens lead complex organizations that manage specialized populations, address staffing shortages and overcrowding, and interact with a wide range of external stakeholders. As chief executive officers of multimillion‑dollar public institutions, their responsibilities are both extensive and widely misunderstood by the public.To meet this urgent workforce need, NIC developed the Executive Leadership Training for New Wardens curriculum, originally launched in 2001 and fully updated in 2022. This 36‑hour, instructor‑led program is specifically designed for wardens with fewer than two years of experience and focuses on the essential leadership and administrative skills required to effectively manage a correctional facility. Core topics include institutional culture, central office relationships, fiscal decision‑making, human resource management, media relations, action planning, and self‑care. The program also provides participants with valuable opportunities to network with peers from across the country, a component consistently identified as one of the most beneficial aspects of the training.
