Description: The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is announcing the availability of funds for new and renewing suicide prevention grants under the Staff Sergeant Fox Suicide Prevention Grant Program (SSG Fox SPGP) for services in Federal Fiscal Year (FY) 2027.  The SSG Fox SPGP directs efforts to reduce Veteran suicide by awarding grants to community-based organizations to directly provide or coordinate the provision of primarily non-clinical suicide prevention services to eligible individuals and their families. Eligible individuals include certain Veterans and Active-Duty Service Members as defined by statute and regulations. Veteran suicide risk is reduced by services that improve mental health status, well-being, financial stability, and social support. Services provided by grantees may include case management, peer support, linkage to VA care and benefits, emergency clinical services, faith-based or innovative approaches. Most Veterans who die by suicide were not engaged with VA in the years prior to their deaths. This program addresses a critical gap by engaging and serving Veterans at risk for suicide who were previously out of VA’s reach and their family members. In FY 2026, under Assistance Listing 10.330, ASAFS will support the development of improved alfalfa seed and forage production systems, practices, and supporting technologies. NIFA is soliciting applications for FY 2026 under the following areas:1.   Increasing alfalfa forage and seed yields and forage quality through improved management practices, plant breeding, and other strategies to reduce biotic and abiotic stresses and costs of production.2.   Improving alfalfa forage and seed harvest and storage systems, including mechanization and automation that reduces labor costs, to optimize economic returns to alfalfa producers as well as end-users including milk producers.3.   Developing methods to estimate alfalfa forage yield and quality to support marketing as a livestock feed and instruments to reduce producer risks.4.   Exploring new uses for alfalfa such as fish feeds, nutritive supplements, alternative protein sources for human consumption, high-value chemical manufacturing, or other novel uses.5.   Developing improved insect, disease and weed management strategies, including spotted aphid, in alfalfa seed production and potential herbicide carry-over issues.

This funding opportunity is to provide immediate emergency food assistance of U.S. agricultural commodities. It also advances President Trump’s commitment to ensure that international assistance delivers a measurable return on investment for the American people and that the benefits of U.S. food assistance flows back to America’s hardworking taxpayers, farmers, ranchers and producers who make this assistance possible. USDA’s America First approach to international food assistance requires all partners of its international assistance programs to adopt the following reforms:    1.Commodities procured must be 100% U.S. origin. a. The U.S. Department of State Bureau of Counterterrorism (CT) announces a funding opportunity to establish a Western Hemisphere Counterterrorism Legal and Financial Disruption Program. The program will strengthen recipients’ ability to hold Foreign Terrorist Organizations (FTOs) accountable by improving legal frameworks and disrupting their financial networks. This initiative supports the 2025 National Security Strategy and the Department’s Agency Strategic Plan by deepening regional partnerships to enhance security, counter transnational threats, and protect U.S. interests in the Western Hemisphere. The program will deliver structured legal and financial-disruption training for investigators, prosecutors, and judges across Latin America and the Caribbean. It will focus on investigating, prosecuting, and adjudicating terrorism cases and dismantling FTO networks, including their links to terrorist financing and transnational criminal organizations. The program will also improve information sharing with U.S. counterparts. Applicants must coordinate and deconflict with existing regional training activities, including the International Law Enforcement Academy (ILEA), and should identify other relevant initiatives. The USGS is offering a funding opportunity to a CESU partner for research to characterize tidal creek water chemistry in fresh and salt marshes in Barataria Basin, Louisiana, supporting development of a decision support tool that will assess wetland recovery in response to oil spill damage and subsequent restoration. This activity is intended to support evaluation of restoration actions within the Louisiana Restoration Area; perform data collection, aggregation and analyses; and inform critical information gaps. This work is carried out pursuant to the 33 U.S.C. 2701, 2761Oil Pollution Act of 1990 (OPA) statute and regulations. Consistent with the Consent Decree for the Deepwater Horizon oil spill, the Trustees carry out their obligations according to Final Programmatic Damage Assessment Restoration Plan and Final Programmatic Environmental Impact Statement (PDARP/PEIS), and the Trustee Council Standard Operating Procedures for Implementation of the Natural Resource Restoration for the Deepwater Horizon (DWH) Oil Spill.
