This notice of funding opportunity (NOFO) provides funding to conduct efficacy studies in an established rare disease preclinical model to demonstrate that a proposed therapeutic agent warrants further development. In addition to preclinical efficacy, accompanying pharmacodynamic and pharmacokinetic studies would be supported. Therapeutic agents include small molecules, biologics or biotechnology-derived products. The goal of this NOFO is to spur therapeutic development for a variety of rare diseases by advancing projects to the point where they would attract subsequent investment supporting full Investigational New Drug (IND) application development or progression to clinical trials in the case of repurposing or repositioning.

Through WaterSMART, the Bureau of Reclamation (Reclamation) leverages Federal and non-Federal funding to work cooperatively with States, Tribes, and other entities as they plan for and implement actions to increase water supply and hydropower reliability. The goal of the WaterSMART Small-Scale Water Efficiency Projects NOFO is to invite eligible entities to apply for funding to implement projects that conserve water and enhance water supply reliability in water delivery systems. It encourages the implementation of small-scale projects identified through prior planning efforts, such as canal lining, water delivery automation, flow measurement, and other projects that increase water efficiency.

The Office of Academic Exchange Programs of the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs announces an open competition for the administration of the FY 2026 Global Undergraduate Exchange Program (Global UGRAD). The total amount of funding for this award will be up to $4,800,000, pending the availability of FY 2026 funds.    The Global UGRAD Program places small cohorts of participants at a broad range of colleges and universities, including community colleges, land-grant institutions, rural campuses, and Senior Military Institutions, giving participants a “real American” experience in small towns and rural communities. Participants build skills in strategic U.S. priority fields such as business, entrepreneurship, semiconductors, AI, engineering, critical minerals, manufacturing, and supply chain resilience. All participants are required to study U.S. history, civic engagement, and American culture, deepening their understanding of American excellence, innovation, and culture. Funding should support approximately 160 participants, pending the availability of FY 2026 funds. Every effort should be made to maximize the number of scholarships awarded; staffing levels should be adequate to ensure that participant health and safety are prioritized. This funding opportunity seeks rigorous proposals on: (1) management and development of the correctional workforce; and (2) correctional officer safety. Proposals for research outside of these two topics will not be considered responsive to this NOFO. Applicants may submit more than one proposal; however, only one topic may be submitted per proposal. Applicants are requested to identify the topic addressed in their application on the title page of the proposal narrative. NIJ is particularly interested in applications with research designs that incorporate action-oriented research, where jurisdictions are an integral part of defining the program, implementing change, and revising practices based on assessment of the change. This NOFO supports basic or applied research and development of Innovations in forensic science for criminal justice purposes. These awards support a discrete, specified, circumscribed project that will: 1. Increase the body of knowledge to guide and inform forensic science policy and practice; or 2. Lead to the production of useful material(s), device(s), system(s), or method(s) that have the potential for forensic application.

This NOFO seeks proposals for rigorous applied research and evaluative studies on the forensic science system. The field of forensic science is changing, particularly as technological advancements improve the criminal justice system’s ability to use forensic evidence more effectively and efficiently. Research is needed to better understand the impact of forensic science on the criminal justice system and law enforcement operations. The Innovation in Behavioral Health (IBH) Model (the “Model”) for Cohort II Recipients is a seven-year, voluntary service delivery and payment model promoting integrated care in behavioral health (BH) settings. The IBH Model will test the impact of a value-based payment (VBP) model aligned across Medicaid and Medicare that supports an integrated care delivery framework in specialty BH organizations and settings for adult Medicaid, Medicare, and dually eligible beneficiaries with moderate to severe mental health conditions and/or substance use disorders (SUDs).The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), through its Center for Medicare & Medicaid Innovation (Innovation Center), will select up to five state Medicaid agencies (SMAs) to participate in the Model. The Model will have a seven-year performance period, which will be comprised of a two-year Pre-Implementation Period (beginning January 2027 and ending December 2028) along with a five-year Implementation Period (beginning January 2029 and ending December 2033). Up to $7.5 million dollars in cooperative agreement award funding will be available to each selected Recipient over the course of the seven years.

This funding opportunity seeks proposals for research and evaluation studies to produce practical knowledge that can improve the examination and interpretation of physical evidence in forensic science laboratories. Specifically, NIJ seeks applications for rigorous research and evaluation projects that will: • Identify and inform the forensic community of best practices through the evaluation of existing and emerging laboratory protocols; and/or • Have a direct and immediate impact on laboratory efficiency and assist in making laboratory policy decisions.

This funding opportunity seeks to fund rigorous and innovative research and evaluation projects to fill knowledge gaps in two topical areas: 1) research on malleable factors that affect school violence in K-12 schools; and 2) evaluations of the impact and effectiveness of school safety approaches implemented for purposes authorized under the STOP School Violence Act.
