The STRIVE Program’s goal is to strengthen U.S. global leadership by supporting U.S. higher education institutions to equip the next generation of American leaders with the vital knowledge, skills, and relationships needed to advance U.S. commercial and security interests. ECA previously engaged U.S. higher education institutions in similar activities through the IDEAS Program. The STRIVE Program increases the U.S. institutions and students engaging overseas while aligning activities to better support U.S. prosperity and security. The STRIVE Program provides competitively selected subawards and resources to U.S. colleges and universities to establish international partnerships and programming that prepare U.S. undergraduate and graduate students for careers in industries critical to U.S. prosperity and security. The STRIVE Program has three main objectives:·      Increase the number of U.S. higher education institutions developing international partnerships to maintain U.S. global leadership and influence in higher education, counter malign influence of other actors in foreign higher education systems, and align global academic innovation with U.S. priorities. ·      Increase the number of U.S. undergraduate and graduate students studying, interning, apprenticing, and/or researching abroad on programs that prepare them to fulfill domestic labor needs, ensuring a skilled U.S. workforce that can effectively advance U.S. commercial and security interests.·      Increase the strategic locations where U.S. undergraduate and graduate students study, intern, apprentice, and/or res...

The goal of the NAWCA program in Canada is to promote partnerships between public agencies and groups interested in:• Protecting, improving, restoring, and managing an appropriate distribution and variety of wetland ecosystems and other habitats for wetlands-associated migratory birds and other fish and wildlife in North America;• maintaining and improving the current distribution of wetlands-associated migratory bird populations; and• sustaining an abundance of waterfowl (ducks, geese, and swans) and other populations of wetlands-associated migratory birds consistent with the objectives of the North American Waterfowl Management Plan, U.S. Shorebird Conservation Plan, Waterbird Conservation Plan for the Americas, Partners in Flight Bird Conservation Plan, and other international obligations contained in the treaties and migratory bird conventions and other agreements with Canada, Mexico, and other countries.• The program requires a minimum 1:1 non-federal match. Program Description: The Bureau of Indian Education at the U.S. Department of Interior (DOI) is soliciting applications in support of the administration of the State Tribal Education Partnerships (STEP) program on behalf of the U.S. Department of Education (ED). The purpose of State Tribal Education Partnership (STEP) is to promote Tribal self-determination in education; improve the academic achievement of Indian children and youth; and promote the coordination and collaboration between Tribal Educational Agencies (TEAs), State Educational Agencies (SEAs), and Local Educational Agencies (LEAs) to meet the unique education and culturally related academic needs of Indian students. STEP is authorized under section 6132 of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, as amended (ESEA). The intent of this competition is to return education to the Tribes and create opportunities where Tribes can exert sovereignty and self-determination. ED expects that TEA-SEA-LEA coordination will result in TEAs maintaining greater systemic connections with their Native children in public schools. Description: The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is announcing the availability of funds for new and renewing suicide prevention grants under the Staff Sergeant Fox Suicide Prevention Grant Program (SSG Fox SPGP) for services in Federal Fiscal Year (FY) 2027.  The SSG Fox SPGP directs efforts to reduce Veteran suicide by awarding grants to community-based organizations to directly provide or coordinate the provision of primarily non-clinical suicide prevention services to eligible individuals and their families. Eligible individuals include certain Veterans and Active-Duty Service Members as defined by statute and regulations. Veteran suicide risk is reduced by services that improve mental health status, well-being, financial stability, and social support. Services provided by grantees may include case management, peer support, linkage to VA care and benefits, emergency clinical services, faith-based or innovative approaches. Most Veterans who die by suicide were not engaged with VA in the years prior to their deaths. In FY 2026, under Assistance Listing 10.330, ASAFS will support the development of improved alfalfa seed and forage production systems, practices, and supporting technologies. The U.S. Department of State Bureau of Counterterrorism (CT) announces a funding opportunity to establish a Western Hemisphere Counterterrorism Legal and Financial Disruption Program. The program will strengthen recipients’ ability to hold Foreign Terrorist Organizations (FTOs) accountable by improving legal frameworks and disrupting their financial networks. This initiative supports the 2025 National Security Strategy and the Department’s Agency Strategic Plan by deepening regional partnerships to enhance security, counter transnational threats, and protect U.S. interests in the Western Hemisphere. The U.S. Geological Survey Southwest Biological Science Center (SBSC) seeks to provide financial assistance for a research project to help build a program to use new remote sensing platforms to improve understanding of how southwestern U.S. ecosystems work and for management options that can best provide ecosystem services in these challenging ecosystems. This program will focus on remote sensing tools that are best for dryland ecosystems, on biological soil crust communities, and on using remote sensing to inform land management options. The work will also focus on using artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, and other cutting edge data analysis tools to analyze a range and scale of data that was previously not possible.Nearly 40% of the United States are arid and semiarid ecosystems, thus these drylands are both vast and important. At the same time, remote sensing challenges unique to drylands have made landscape-scale assessments of drylands challenging and thus the power of remote sensing tools has lagged behind their use in more mesic ecosystems. A central goal of the BRAIN Initiative is to understand how electrical and chemical signals code information in neural circuits and give rise to sensations, thoughts, emotions and actions. While currently available technologies can provide some understanding, they may not be sufficient to accomplish this goal. The purpose of the SCRI program is to address the critical needs of the specialty crops industries (as defined in Appendix III) by awarding grants to support research and extension that address key challenges of national, regional, and multi-state importance in sustaining all components of food and agriculture, including conventional and organic food production systems. The program recognizes that for some specialty crops that are grown in a limited number of states, the multi-state nature of projects can be difficult to address. Except for Research and Extension Planning Projects, the SCRI program only considers projects that integrate research and extension activities. Applicants are strongly encouraged to propose a unique approach to solving problems facing the specialty crop industry using a systems approach.

The purpose of the DEG program, under assistance listing number 10.322, is to strengthen the capacity of institutions of higher education in insular areas to carry out resident instruction, curriculum, and teaching programs in the food and agricultural sciences through distance education technology. Projects funded by the DEG program support the creation, adaptation, and adoption of learning materials and teaching strategies to operationalize best practices for student learning. The Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2023 (Public Law 117-328, Sec 644) reauthorized the Japanese American Confinement Sites (JACS) Grant Program and established the Norman Y. Mineta Japanese American Confinement Education (JACE) grants, which seeks to educate the public about the historical importance of understanding Japanese American confinement in the United States during World War II, so that present and future generations may learn from Japanese American confinement and the commitment of the United States to equal justice under the law.Through a competitive grant process, the Norman Y. Mineta Japanese American Confinement Education (JACE) grants will provide financial assistance to Japanese American organizations for large impactful education projects. Background The FDA Oncology Center of Excellence (OCE) aims to advance the development and regulation of oncology products for patients with cancer. The Pediatric Oncology Program and Rare Cancers Program were established to facilitate and expedite drug development for pediatric and other rare cancers.
